The Yorkshire School of French

Delivering tailor made French courses to suit every need.

"During our recent holiday touring in Normandy we were able to enjoy lengthy and varied conversations totally in French exploring politics, music and culture.
Our ability to take part in these conversations was due to the time spent with Paul Ridley of Yorkshire French. The small, informal classes led by Paul gave us the skills and confidence to explore the delights of rural France without resorting to English at any time during the whole week. Thanks Paul !"

For beginners, it is vital to have a knowledge of basic business etiquette, greetings and how to introduce oneself. At more advanced levels students focus additionally on reading and writing skills. Courses are usually designed to suit the needs of those involved in import/export, international negotiations, jobseekers in blue chip companies where French
is essential, and those who have frequent dealings with international colleagues,
academia and government.

General French

General French

We often find that the General French courses have an even more "custom built" feel to them, as people wishing to study the language for non business reasons come from wide and varied backgrounds. Many of our students take our "get by" courses as they are planning a long summer holiday in France and want to be able to communicate with the locals.
Others are actually buying, (or have already bought), property in France, and need specific vocabulary to talk to builders, solicitors and above all neighbours!

 General French

Often learners come to us for an intensive "help and support" course as they, or their children, are preparing for a particular examination.
Finally some people are simply "francophiles", ie. They love all that is French and want to know more!
